The MD, Finance First Line Risk - Reporting role will lead the first line risk management program for the Accounting and FP&A verticals of the Finance organization. Key responsibilities include managing and supporting RCSA execution; supporting development and monitoring of KRIs and metrics at the Board, Management, and First Line Unit level; supporting governance, policy and procedure alignment across Finance; leading issue identification and management for Accounting and FP&A-related processes; and serving as liaison with auditors and regulators through examinations. In addition, this role will work closely with the 2nd line Financial Risk Management and SOX teams through execution of risk management activities.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead Accounting and FP&A Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA), including process definition, risk and control identification, and issue identification

Develop and lead testing function for key controls

Lead Issue Management process for Accounting and FP&A -related issues (audit, regulatory, self-identified) and ensure remediation plans are appropriate and timely address related risks and control gaps

Develop reporting to Accounting and FP&A leadership on risk management activities

Support KRI/metric development, monitoring and reporting for Board, Management and First Line Unit (FLU) levels

Serve as liaison for audits and examinations, and interface with regulators

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or related field required; advanced degree preferred

CPA, CIA, or other similar designation (CFA) a plus

10-12+ years of experience in risks in controls function (operational risk management, enterprise risk management, audit/SOX, first line risk management)

Substantial Accounting and/or FP&A experience within Banking sector required including Regulatory Reporting, Tax Compliance, and Budgeting and Forecasting

Excellent interpersonal, team building, and communication skills required

Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive desired outcomes

The estimated hourly range for this position is $180,000 USD to $215,000 USD.  Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
