Overview

As a MD Scribe, you will work with our ophthalmologists/surgeons by documenting information into Electronic Health Record and gather important medical information from the patient, perform preliminary tests, and gather measurements while providing highest quality of care and an exceptional patient experience. 

Responsibilities Scribes for the provider by coding and documenting the dictated information into the patient’s electronic medical record (EHR)Reviews patient visit details and preliminary work-up completed by Ophthalmic Technician to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to the provider examFills patient rooms as neededReviews provider’s schedules to confirm patients are scheduled correctlyEnsures the patient’s visit flows smoothly with the provider in the appropriate amount of timeGenerates medication prescriptions as directed from the provider through ErxEducates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consent for procedures and surgeryPerforms pretests including Goldmann Tonometry, extra-ocular muscle evaluation, confrontational visual fields, refractions, and lensometry as neededCommunicates any clinic flow concerns with facilitator and management Qualifications High School Diploma or GED requiredCOA, COT preferredOphthalmology experience is a plusGeneral knowledge of clinical and surgical procedure requirementsWilling to travel to other local offices Strong computer skillsDetail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFlexible schedule working Monday through Friday Benefits & Perks
