Description:Cleans and maintains all assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and attractive manner in accordance with required accreditation and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment and transports to designated work area.Cleans assigned areas in accordance with accreditation and industry standards. Tasks include, but not limited to, cleaning walls, floors, dusting, buffing, polishing, scrubbing, moving furniture, waste removal, laundry/linen duties and other tasks as directed.Cleans and maintains equipment.Maintains good relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues.Plans and utilizes time well.Uses initiative in performing duties.Demonstrates professional attitude and behavior by maintaining acceptable work habits including, but not limited to, dependability, punctuality, and appropriate behaviors.Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education by attending all department meetings, completing learning modules and reading all applicable e-mails or other communications.Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and hospital matters

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to consistently meet the department work schedule.Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing and be able to follow instructions.Must have manual and physical ability to perform such tasks as general cleaning, terminal cleaning, linens and waste removal.
