HOW AN MDRT HUB ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Network /MDRT Hub Administrator, provide Satellite Technical support and maintenance of telecommunications transmission media systems, services and network architecture for the Medium Data Rate Satellite Architecture Network and Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) systems. This support shall include planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and documentation related to MDRT architecture, network, and systems and associated equipment. Establish connections through created option files issued upon submittal of satellite access request (SAR) and gateway access request (GAR); perform network connectivity monitoring, system failure management, and routine support. Operate, monitor, and maintain network services to include highly specialized and unique worldwide networks in support of high visibility customers. Monitor, track, report, and restore IT networks involving iDirect communications hardware and software, stand-alone data systems, and video hardware and software systems designed for use on satellite and fiber optic networks.  Works with other systems and network professionals as required to coordinate efforts, in order to maintain connectivity to external networks and resolve cross-team issues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:


● Education: Bachelors Degree in related technical discipline or equivalent experience


● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience


● Required Technical Skills:

MDRT Architecture and Systems experienceDOD 8570 compliant I.E. (e.g. Sec+ ) requiredExperience with MDRT, i-direct, or tactical SHF systemsIntermediate understanding of Windows Server/Client administrationIntermediate knowledge of SATCOM and SHF transmission systemsIntermediate understanding of networking and ability to troubleshoot

Job Description

Designs, plans and builds communications networks. Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements.
