MDS Nurse Specialist

Beacon Solutions Group, a subsidiary of The Bonadio Group, is currently seeking an MDS Nurse Specialist. This position involves implementation of tasks on developed client workplans and well as management of on going client relations to meet client needs. This position will act as a subject matter expert on long term care clinical operations in relation to MDS completion and scheduling, clinical auditing, and provide ongoing support and solutions to client base dependent on need.

Responsibilities

Oversight and management of MDS activities as assigned.

Participate in the development of policies and procedures.

Participate in and provide client education.

Management of MDS audit activities as assigned.

Participate in CMI developed activities.

Provide documentation as outlined per policy by client site.

Maintain IMS databases as instructed.

Keep abreast of industry developments in regards to compliance and regulatory standards.

Keep abreast of payer constraints and  Medicare/ Medicaid SNF billing requirements.

Participate in QM activities as assigned.

Participate in QIS and traditional mock survey teams.

All other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations.

Qualifications

Required:

A minimum of an associates degree or equivalent NYS Nursing licensure.

New York State RN or LPN licensure, 

At least two years of operational experience in long term care clinical setting preferred.

At least two years of MDS experience desired, but will train

Must act in accordance with compliance, security, privacy and HIPAA rules and regulations.

Must be willing to travel within New York.  Daily travel up to 50% but varies greatly.  Overnight travel occasionally required.

 

Preferred:

Active ANNAC, RAC, CT.

The salary for this position is between $50,000 to $68,000 and is commensurate with experience.

Hours of Operation:

Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, based on Beacon Solutions client needs and project manager approval

We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
