Responsibilities Lead and direct the completion of the resident assessment and schedules the care planning process in accordance with Federal and State guidelines for a resident within FutureCare’s adult/geriatric populationAssures accuracy and completeness of entire residents’ medical recordManages the completion of MDS to ensure they are within HCFA and Medicare guidelinesFacilitate MDS electronic submission to occur per State regulationsParticipates in family/resident care plan conferencesCommunicates with other departments as it relates to medical record documentationEducates nursing staff on documentation requirements for reimbursementLead interdisciplinary team meetings, triple check, QA, and PPS Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid RN or LPN license in good standing according to Maryland State and Federal requirementsExtensive MDS 3.0 training and software experience required3+ years’ experience as an MDS/PPS CoordinatorProgressive nursing experience preferably in a resident assessment environmentMust possess managerial and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively with other team membersIn-depth experience and knowledge with PDPM and CMI as related to Medicare and Medicaid service reimbursementsMust have patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and a willingness to handle residents Current CPR certification
