Responsible for supervising resident care throughout the facility.  Care is rendered in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assess plans and evaluate services rendered.

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.  Must have current NY State RN license.  Certification as PRI Assessor required.  Completion of the MDS+ training course required.  Must have knowledge of the MDS regulations in a residential health care facility.  Computer proficiency required.  Must have previous experience in MDS and have demonstrated ability in the application of organizational and communication skills.  Must demonstrate the ability to ready and write in a legible manner and have strong documentation and auditing skills.  Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations and standards of care governing long term care.  Strong leadership, communication and team building skills required.  Must maintain a commitment to the principles of long term care and have a strong understanding of assessing and care planning resident outcomes. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills required.  Must have a clear understanding of cost-effective, quality efficient care.  Knowledge of standards and needs of residents, regulatory codes, personnel and administrative policies and departmental policies and procedures required. CPR certification required.  Must demonstrate competence in recent supervision and have a minimum of 2 years long term care experience.

BLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:

 

1.  American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program

 

2.  American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

 

No online programs from any organization will be accepted.

 

 

 

The pay for this position ranges from $50 - $60 per hour/per year.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
