Role description:
We are looking to build upon our existing team in our measured surveying department across our Places business. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of clients, from the Government sector, Investment funds with large property portfolios, education & working with internal teams across Arcadis, including our Design and Engineering Departments.
We would like to see experience in undertaking a full range of measurement surveys across both land and buildings. You will be very digitally focussed, with the use of technology in the industry every increasing, we would like to see experience of digital technology and capabilities in area measurement practice.
You will deliver the property measurement capabilities through your experience in working with Total stations and 3D laser scanners. You will have knowledge of GPS and LIDAR equipment. The candidate will have experience in processing point cloud data to produce 2D and 3D outputs in a range of software packages such as AutoCAD.
A strong understanding and experience of applying the International Property Measurement Standards and the RICS Code of Measuring Practice is essential. You will be involved in client development and work closely to support our multidisciplinary teams on a wide range of projects and professional services works.
Role accountabilities:
Execute topographical surveys to a high standard. Perform comprehensive measured building surveys, including floor plans, elevations, and sections, using a combination of traditional techniques and 3D scanners, while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Competently carry out setting-out tasks based on coordinates. Provide assistance in report writing and preparing fee proposals to deliver to the client. Provide support to the multidisciplinary team; Carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with our processes and procedures and to have a commercial awareness of the projects and always offer value for money; To liaise and manage our technicians in our Global Excellence Centres; Collaborate with cross-sector departments in the delivery of Measured Surveys; Have an understanding of Building Information Modelling and Digital Construction. Supervise and provide training to trainee surveyors when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
Desirable – a degree in a Geomatics, Mapping or Surveying related subject or a graduate or apprenticeship program Either successfully completed a relevant apprenticeship programme with day release work experience, or, Time served experience working in a measured surveyor role.# Competency in operating surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and 3D laser scanners.
