Position Description:
The primary purpose of the Measurement Analyst Position is to provide support in the completion of goals, responsibilities and tasks that will further the efforts of the Measurement Department. The Measurement Analyst position will have responsibilities directly related to Kinder Morgan’s crude and CO2 assets. The role will require daily measurement validation, investigation, analysis and reporting of CO2 and crude assets in support of monthly close deadlines. In addition, the role will support gain/loss analysis and reporting with focus on process improvement. There will also be other responsibilities including system migrations, liquid entry and other reporting requirements as outlined below.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Timely completion of liquid analysis entries in measurement system meeting close deadlines for multiple natural gas midstream assets.
+ Complete all required analysis and tasks prior to appropriate close deadlines.
+ Analyze and investigate losses or gains on physical pipeline balances and work with Operations and Measurement to resolve.
+ Works with Field Operations personnel to setup and administrate balancing and reporting tools used for physical pipeline balancing.
+ Works with others within Measurement, Field Operations, Engineering, IT and the various downstream business units to help resolve measurement issues.
+ Coordinates gain/loss meetings when required. Provides information needed for meeting.
+ Tracks and analyzes line fill information on designated pipelines, where applicable.
+ Assists the downstream business groups in tracking and resolving gain/loss variances.
+ Performs internal and external auditing of physical measured points on Kinder Morgan pipeline.
+ Initiates, tracks and finalizes requests for adjustments from third party companies
+ Reports audit progress/results to management
+ Completes and/or assists with lease requests and lease setup in Field Insight and FlowCal.
+ Provides queries and reports for special data requests from internal and external sources for measurement related information.
+ Assist with system enhancement projects, system testing, documentation and training.
+ Assists team in the identification, development and implementation of measurement process improvements and make recommendations regarding these improvements.
+ Demonstrates ability to effectively utilize internal and external tools to obtain measurement data.
+ Provides support to various internal business groups for Field Insight and Pgas/FlowCal screens and data issues. Works with IT when necessary to help resolve.
+ Analyze and make appropriate edits as necessary on a daily basis for Kinder Morgan CO2 and Wink Crude systems.
+ Tracking CO2 sales throughout the month, which may include verifying truck tickets with hauler invoices, pulling batch tickets from CO2 meters throughout the system.
+ Perform and assist with special projects as handed down by Management.

Position Requirements
Education
+ An Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited school of business, engineering or related physical sciences is preferred. Previous experience in a related field/industry may be considered in lieu of a degree. 3+ years of industry experience is strongly preferred.
Experience, Specific Knowledge, Certification, Licenses
+ Has a good knowledge of crude and other product measurement fundamentals including standards, policies and procedures
+ Intermediate skills in Microsoft programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, required
+ Intermediate skills in query and report writing tools such as Access, SQL, PowerBi, preferred
+ Strong working knowledge of Kinder Morgan transactional systems including Field Insight, Pgas, FlowCal or equivalent systems, preferred
+ High level of understanding of the business processes upstream and downstream of measurement
Competencies/Skills
+ Must have intermediate math and analytical background/skills
+ Ability to manage various pipeline assets and associated close deadlines
+ Working knowledge of the tables/data structures that support internal systems
+ Relates well to all kinds and levels of people and build appropriate rapport
+ Organizes work for timely completion in meeting deadlines and be available for overtime work if required
+ Learns quickly
+ Sets daily, weekly and monthly work schedule, prioritize multiple tasks, and be able to determine high impact vs low impact items
+ Must display well-developed written and verbal communication skills
+ Maintains a verified, high level accuracy of data in both the measurement system and in information requested outside of the system
+ Must be a team player and participate in collaboration with the team for both educational and problem solving purposes
+ Provides information at the appropriate level of detail so requests are completed in a desirable, useful manner

Working Conditions
+ Typically 1% travel to field locations or other KM Offices. The majority of the time is spent at the KM Houston office.
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
