Engineering Tech Services
The position is in Engineering and Tech Services, part of our centralized Operations Support Group (OSG). The position reports to the Manager of our Flow Computer group in the Measurement Organization.

Measurement is in Engineering and Tech Services which is part of our centralized Operations Support Group (OSG).The individual will provide design services and technical support for all electronic flow measurement (EFM) equipment used at Kinder Morgan products measurement and control stations, and must possess the ability to associate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
The position will be filled in Houston TX and candidates at various levels will be considered depending on experience and job skills.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Specify EFM equipmentSpecify peripheral equipment (enclosures, power supplies, solar power systems, transmitters, modems, cabling, terminal blocks, I.S. barriers, etc.)Perform configuration of and technical support for products flow computers: ABB Spirit and FlowX, Omni, and Emerson ROCs.Write function sequence tables (FST) for Emerson ROCsEvaluate new EFM equipmentWork with vendors on EFM panel designProvide factory acceptance and site acceptance testing of EFM systemsProvide engineering support to operations on a daily basisTroubleshoot hardware and software issues found in the fieldUse lab facilities to emulate and resolve issues found in the fieldWrite documentation for EFM systemsTrain field personnel in use of EFM equipmentApply the company's design and operating philosophy within the field locations to meet corporate goals for safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and profitabilityDevelop and generate project scope documents, schedules, costs estimates, budget forecasts as required with moderate direction from supervisorEffectively prioritize workload between several projectsSignificantly contributes to meeting business objectives by generating and implementing project ideasRegular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assigned Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited University, having a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.Applicants without an Engineering degree having ten years of relevant industry experience, will also be consideredSpecific knowledge
Design practices, processes, and procedures related to products measurementPossess project management skills used in the development of project documents such as project scope, schedule, budget forecasting, cost analysis, and risk identification/mitigation and be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills.Travels from 15-20% of time to field sites and offices with occasional overnight staysOn-call support for Gas Control, field personnel or Management, related to operational problems on the measurement and SCADA systemStrong analytical and problem solving skillsRead and interpret blueprints and diagramsAbility to work with minimal supervisionCertifications, licenses, registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to company
