Measurement Technician Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Perform meter proving and conducting or witnessing test
+ Develop and maintain meter proving schedule
+ Maintains and operate Electronic Flow Measure (EFM) devices e.g. Omni Flow Computer
+ Provides field support to the measurement analyst/volumetric team
+ Maintain, inspect and operate custody operational pipeline meters and truck loading meters (marketing terminal) in accordance to company policy, and industry standards (e.g. PD, Coriolis, turbine, Ultrasonic etc.)
+ Maintain, tune and calibrate load rack equipment (control valves, additive injectors etc.)
+ Record and maintain measurement related documents
+ Perform and understand crude oil quality (Centrifuge Method, if applicable)
+ Operate/maintain /calibrate automatic liquid samplers
+ Understand tank measurement for floating roof and standard storage tanks (if applicable)
+ Understand and witness water-draws as required
+ Perform functions independently in area of responsibility
+ Perform callout work, as needed. Night and weekend work may also be required.
+ Assist with the Region’s Controls and Automation and/or Heavy Electrical workload, pending candidate’s skillset
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
+ High School diploma or equivalent required.
+ Technical degree in electronics or computer programming preferred.
+ Ability to acquire CDL Class A license, if not already in possession.
+ A valid driver's license is required.
+ Controls and Automation and/or Heavy Electrical skillset
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
+ Kneeling, bending/squatting, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead, grasping lifting up to 50 lbs, two person lifting for up to 100 lbs
EXPERIENCE
+ One to five years liquid measurement experience is preferred.
+ Experience operating meter prover is preferred
+ Controls Automation and/or Heavy Electrical experience is beneficial.
+ Knowledge of Electronic Flow Measure (EFM) devices
+ Basic computer software e.g. MS Window, excel spreadsheet and Outlook
+ Excellent communication skills and customer services
+ Work independently, organized and deadline oriented with flexibility to multitask
+ A willingness to learn and grow with the position is essential
+ Must be able to work well in both independently and in a team environment
+ Firm commitment to safe work practices
The pay range for this position is $78,800-118,200. Pending the successful candidate’s skillset, motivation, and business opportunity, the successful candidate will have promotion opportunities to a higher salary range: $90,700-136,100. This position is also eligible for 15% Geodifference.
