Position OverviewThe Meat Manager is responsible for directing and supervising all functions and activities of Meat Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Description

Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Meat operations, safety, and sanitationResponsible for achieving financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expenseTake customer orders accurately for productFulfill weekly orders in accordance with store policy to ensure adequate supply levelsAdhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of productMaintain and enforce a clean work environment to ensure sanitary conditionsComplete all necessary paperwork relating to Meat DepartmentSelection, training, development and scheduling of Meat associatesPerform tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store ManagerTravel Required:No

Specialized Knowledge : Knowledge of meat and different cuts of meatSpecial Skills :Physical abilities: : Accurate vision; Occasional amounts of sitting, climbing, stooping, and feeling; Constant amounts of standing, lifting/carrying loads up to 100 lb, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and crouching;Frequent amounts of walking, pushing/pulling loads up to 80 lb, and exposure to temperatures down to 35 degreesOther: : Operation of Knives, Patty Machine, Grinder, Wrapping Machine, Computerized Scales, High Pressure Cleaner, Cubing Machine, Baller/Compactor, Bandsaw, Pallet Jack, Walkie Stacker;Other: : Ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, and basic computer skills
