Position Summary: The Meat Room Technician is responsible for adding the correct raw meat slurry ingredients based on recipe requirements and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and GMPs. Operate hopper and forklift to dispense ingredients for product production. Meat Room Technicians regularly work 40 hours per week with overtime as business needs require. Duties & Responsibilities: + Set-up, operate and disassemble meat room equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and GMPs. + Dump appropriate meat slurry into hopper to ensure continuous runtime of production. + Responsible for setting up and starting up meat room equipment according to the production schedule. + Disassemble and clean meat room equipment according to Sanitation SOPs. + Maintain meat room cleanliness throughout work shift. + Promptly report issues with product and/or equipment to supervisor. + Troubleshoot equipment as needed. + Review and follow production schedule throughout shift. + Verify product quality and ensure product is running according to job specifications. + Monitor equipment and perform basic maintenance as required. + Operate forklift to store and stage meat slurry according to production needs. + All other duties as assigned. Workplace Safety: + Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor. + Participates in mandatory safety trainings and adheres to all safety policies + Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries Quality & Food Safety: + Completes quality & food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor. + Participates in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements + Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies + Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system. Position Requirements: + Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times throughout the shift. + Ability to work in an environment which includes frequent exposure to elements such as odor, noise, heat, cold, dust and chemicals. + Demonstrate mechanical aptitude. + Must be familiar with use of hand tools. + Good verbal and mathematical capability at a high school level. + Ability to read and understand process operating procedures. + Familiarity with computer applications. Preferred Qualifications + Previous experience operating a forklift and setting up production machines. + Prior experience in a production environment, preferably food or beverage manufacturing.
