The meat & seafood specialist positions is designed to support our meat & seafood departments throughout our stores in several areas: conditions, products, processes, and most importantly, people. This position requires daily travel throughout the assigned area. The main goal is to assist and support store operations with implementation and execution of sales and merchandising programs for assigned perishable departments within the region. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Train and coach department managers, trainees and others on operational execution, customer service, selling skills and the completion of monthly fresh department inventories.Evaluate the implementation and execution of merchandising plans, including the merchandising of new and seasonal items, sale items, promotional tie-ins, displays and signage in order to meet or exceed the sales and profit objectives of the region.Assist in resolution of action plan issues and stores needing assistance with plan-o-gram maintenance as directed by Fresh Field Merchandiser.Evaluate and report to management the in-stock condition, quality and freshness of products in stores within the assigned region.Inspect sales floor, backroom, prep areas and key customer access areas in the department for cleanliness to ensure proper housekeeping, sanitation, and customer satisfaction levels.Assist in completion of quarterly Weight and Code checks assigned department in each store within the region.Enforce all federal and state regulations as well as Company policies and procedures.Adhere to and enforce all physical safety and food safety regulations; promote goodwill with respect to government agencies and officials.Evaluate and make recommendations on backroom cooler/freezer inventory levels, safety issues and overall conditions to reduce out-of-code and shrink.Evaluate associate appearance and verify dress code policy is enforced to ensure proper image is being presented to our customers.Coordinate and execute price checks in competitor markets; forward price check results to the Fresh Director weekly or as requested.Assist District Manager, HR Talent Manager and Store Managers in the selection and development of Fresh Department Managers, trainees and bench strength candidates within the assigned department.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business preferred, plus a minimum of three (3) years' experience in retail operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
