Mechanic, Sheet Metal IV

Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates. Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials. Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form. Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Follow company policies and procedures.

· Follow directions and / or instructions, as directed.

· Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.

· Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.

· Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.

· Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.

· Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision.

· Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and planning documents with normal supervision.

· Apply different type’s conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision.

· Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.

· Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision.

· Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.

· Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.

· Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.

· Other various duties, as assigned.

Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status in order to meet the minimum qualifications for those select positions. All inquiries related to citizenship are asked solely to comply with ITAR and EAR export licensing requirements.
