We invite you to apply if you are ready to take the next step!** We are looking for a Assembly Mechanic to join our Core team in La Porte. **Your main tasks and responsibilities:** + Safely and efficiently disassemble, thoroughly inspect, and precisely build rotating equipment such as steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, hot gas expanders, gear boxes and other machinery according to Sulzerā€™s established guidelines and safety protocols. + Conduct thorough visual inspections of disassembled components, identifying wear, damage, or abnormalities that may affect equipment performance. + Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges, to take accurate measurements and assess dimensional integrity of parts. + Operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts when required. + Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings and measurements. + Execute unit assembly of repaired or replaced components, following technical specifications and quality standards. **To succeed in this role, you will need:** + 3 years of hands-on, shop oriented experience turbomachinery repair preferred. + High mechanical aptitude and experience in detailed mechanic industries (turbines, compressors, rotating equipment) + Willingness to work overtime when necessary. + Must be able to use precision measuring instruments. **What we offer you:** + 11 Paid Holidays + 15 Paid Time Off (PTO) Days + Medical, dental, vision, life & disability + 401K with 6% company match + Employee Assistance Program + Employee Wellness Program + Bonus Programs + New onsite cafeteria, all meals subsidized (La Porte Service Center) No visa or work permit support can be provided for this role.
