Gray Ohio Valley, located in Versailles, KY, is looking for an experienced mechanic.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Ability to diagnose and repair gasoline/diesel engines and powertrains on light to heavy trucks, and light to heavy construction equipmentDetermines vehicles condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts; Disassembling enginesCorrect vehicle/heavy equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembly disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems.Replacing vehicle/heavy equipment engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systemsChecking vehicle/heavy equipment lighting systemsTest drive vehicles/heavy equipment to gauge performanceMaintain vehicle and heavy Equipment appearances by cleaning, washing and paintingMaintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairsKeeps supplies ready by inventory stock and verifying receiptsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading and understanding technical and regulation publicationsMay weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipmentMay be required to load or unload equipment, earth and materials onto trailer, dump truck, etc.Communicate well with Supervisor and team membersCare and account for company tools, materials and equipmentPerform routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubrication, fueling, cleaning, checking oil and waterPerform work safely and in accordance with industry and company standardsOther duties may be assigned Qualifications The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in Diesel Mechanic repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  Employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations.  Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud.   Overtime and travel may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.
