Mechanic

FLANDERS is looking for a full-time Mechanic with strong safety orientation and attention to detail. This position will pay a key role within a team that will work together to build components of and repair AC and DC motors.  Learn to work in multiple areas but not limited to: Balancing, Machining, Wielding and Winding.

Here's What You'll Learn to Perform Under Supervision.

Disassembly: Disassemble complex electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, condition, problems, and failures. Properly mark parts, take photos, and thoroughly complete documentation on iPad, to ensure accurate job completion that meets company and ISO standards. Assembly: Assist level II or III Mechanics with the final assembly of motors per instructions for each specific job -Assemble basic to complex motors and equipment including ball, roller, and sleeve bearings.-Pre-test electrical, mechanical, and ensure proper lubrication is used per customer/job requirements. Testing: Perform basic test of electromechanical equipment and document accordingly. Troubleshoot known or suspected problems.  Be aware of any abnormalities in test run (rubbing, noise, end play, brush noise, and commutation, etc.).Clean & Inspect: Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps including but not limited to parts washers/steamers, caustic tanks, and glass beaders.Parts Flow ProcessRepairs: Repair or replace defective mechanical or electromechanical parts including but not limited to bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, couplers, overspeeds, brake assemblies and drums, tachs, fans, and end shields.Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation on iPad throughout entire repair process, including all test sheets from receiving unit description to Quality Control Checklist. Record accurately and on a timely basis.

Here's What You'll Need:  

High school diploma or equivalent.Three years mechanical experience  preferred.Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple to moderately complex written and verbal instructions.Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures.Ability to operate fork lift trucks, cranes and other equipment.Ability to receive respirator clearance. Ability to read tape measures, dial calipers, and micrometers.
