**Job Title: Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This is a technician-level position where technicians are responsible for performing skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of coach buses. Responsibilities include troubleshooting repair needs, independently completing minor repair projects, and directing team efforts on larger projects.
**Responsibilities**
+ Diagnose problems and perform standard mechanical repairs in a shop environment on customer equipment including emergency vehicle trucks and all related components.
+ Work from shop orders, specifications, manuals, schematics, prints, and instructions.
+ Review shop orders, change orders, and all other order-affiliated documents to determine requirements.
+ Diagnose and repair a variety of systems and related components, including aerial devices, fire pump systems, steering systems, braking systems, suspensions, charging and cranking systems, drive trains, and a wide range of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning (MVAC) systems.
+ Troubleshoot basic engine and transmission problems, primarily focusing on interfacing with related vehicle systems.
+ Test components to meet all applicable and required standards.
+ Identify and locate defective parts/components, remove and replace parts/components, and make required adjustments.
+ Conduct stationary tests and verify or certify that product meets specifications and quality standards.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in electrical and air conditioning systems.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair automotive systems.
+ Proficiency in using mechanical and repair tools.
+ Experience with diesel engines is a plus.
+ Must have own tools and toolboxes.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in automotive repair and service.
+ Knowledge of diesel engines is an advantage.

**Work Environment**
The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The work environment requires steel toe boots and loose-fitting pants and shirts that you do not mind getting dirty. You will need to bring your own tools and toolboxes.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
