MECHANIC \n
The Mechanic provides mechanical and preventative maintenance duties in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment, trucks, and vehicles at the location. \n
Key Responsibilities and Duties\n\nInspects, maintains and repairs or adjusts parts on equipment, trucks and vehicles.\nKeeps maintenance records.\nPlaces orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment repair or services. \nRecommends purchases of new equipment and supplies or outsourcing of repairs.\nMaintain miscellaneous equipment in the yard or at customer sites (i.e., mags, bins, silos, containers, pumps, etc.).\nMaintains tools and equipment provided by Austin Powder Company.\nOrders and stock parts according to usage records, using designated suppliers.\nPerforms or schedules all fleet repairs and maintenance with proper documentation to meet regulatory agency and APC policies.\nKeeps garage and work area clean and organized. \nReports employee, vendor or equipment issues to Location Manager.\nDevelops and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and government agencies.\nDisplays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in pursuit of APC business goals. \nMaintains a safe working environment in compliance with all regulations and APC policies.\nCompletes and maintains a safe working environment in compliance with all regulations and APC policies.\nMaintains all required licenses and\/or certifications needed to perform mechanical duties and operate equipment at the location. \nOther duties as assigned.\n\n
Education and Experience \n\nHigh school or equivalent (GED) degree\n21+ years of age as required by DOT.\n5 years mechanic experience\n2 years driving experience with a Class B CDL\nCommercial Driver's License (CDL) with the following classes:\n\nClass A - Any Combination over 26,001 (preferred)\nClass B - Single vehicle over 26,001 or two vehicles.\nClass C - Combination of single vehicle less than 26,000\nHazardous Material.\nX-Combination of Tank and Hazardous Material.\nAir Brake.\n\n\n\n
Skills and Knowledge\n\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product bulletins, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to identify products by sight.\nAbility to speak effectively with employees and customers.\n\n

Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.\nWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk.
