**Job Title: Mechanic**
**Job Description**
As a Service Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in the field.
**Responsibilities**
+ Clean and maintain rental equipment including water pumps, generators (diesel and gasoline), concrete finishing trowels, concrete saws, power buggies, wood chippers, trenchers, light towers, mini loaders, air compressors (diesel and gasoline), heaters, ground thaw equipment, air conditioners, and compaction equipment.
+ Investigate and diagnose faults and failures of equipment and recommend repair solutions.
+ Perform light repairs on rental and customer-owned equipment.
+ Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment.
+ Pressure wash equipment, check equipment for proper and safe operation, maintain and service equipment, look up parts, and write repair estimates.
+ Take phone calls from customers who have equipment out on rent.
+ Assist in loading and unloading rental equipment.
+ Process paperwork for rental contracts and invoices.
+ Perform simple maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the rental fleet.
+ Respond to outside rental service calls as needed.
+ Handle light customer service repairs and ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
+ Resolve rental disputes fairly and promptly to maintain strong customer relationships.
+ Learn and maintain operating procedures of rental equipment and inform customers of correct operation procedures.
+ Ensure product availability and maintenance to encourage rentals.
+ Maintain the wash bay and yard in a neat, clean, and organized manner.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 3-5 years of small engine knowledge and mechanical ability
+ Basic computer knowledge
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds
+ Courteous and professional customer service
+ Valid Driver’s License and driving record applicable to our insurance carrier
+ Ability to read and understand parts diagrams, schematics, and other materials as required to diagnose and repair equipment
+ Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, and reach as needed to complete repairs
+ Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly and/or occasionally
+ Ability to work outdoors when required, in both hot and cold weather conditions
**Work Environment**
You will work both indoors in a heated and ventilated shop and outdoors on construction sites in various weather conditions. Our team in McFarland consists of three rental technicians working together on equipment and independently. We provide company uniforms and offer flexible working hours from 8am - 5pm or 7am - 4pm, Monday through Friday, with potential after-hours service calls. Tools are provided, but personal tools are appreciated as they show investment in the trade.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Mcfarland, Wisconsin.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $56160.00
