**Job Title: Retrofit Installer** **Job Description** We are seeking Retrofit Mechanics to join our team in Auburn Hills to customize, test, repair, and re-customize vehicles. As a member of the retrofit team, you will perform part updates and rework on new and gently used vehicles. The scope of work varies from heavy to light repairs. Team members are responsible for maintaining proper documentation, following procedures, and ensuring quality work. In some cases, inspectors can be appointed for specific programs or platforms of repairs. **Responsibilities** + Read service procedures as written by the OEM service engineers + Access and utilize OEM systems for software flashing, labor guides, and service procedures + Evaluate repairs and diagnose issues when repairing vehicles + Possess and use a complete variety of automotive tools, including some specialty tools + Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles + Perform test drives and functionality vehicle tests + Document any additional issues found and inform the Team Leader/Manager in a timely manner + Work independently and complete projects without intervention + Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the client team + Consistently meet labor time guidelines for multiple repairs + Work independently and off-site with minimal resources in various conditions + Maintain a clean workstation and work environment **Essential Skills** + Experienced technician in engine, transmission, and electrical repairs/troubleshooting + Possess a mechanic tool set + Ability to lift 40 lbs. + Reliable attendance + Positive attitude and willingness to learn **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + State or ASE certifications in engine, transmission, or electrical (preferred) + Enjoy working on personal vehicles during downtime + Willingness to transfer to the Auburn Hills location once the new building is open **Why Work Here?** We offer pay increases based on performance, opportunities for cross-training and moving into different departments with associated pay raises, and comprehensive dental, health, and vision benefits. Our projects are mapped out for the next couple of years, ensuring job security. **Work Environment** Technicians will have their own workstations with all tools readily available. The environment is very clean with plenty of space. While it is not temperature controlled, the facility is comfortable with fans and vents maintaining normal temperatures. At the end of each shift, stations are cleaned and organized. Openings are available on both 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) and 3rd shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am) with a $2+/hour shift premium. A 40-hour base workweek is offered, with the option to work 2-3 hours past shifts for overtime and Double Time on Saturdays. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
