Job Description
We are seeking Retrofit Mechanics to join our team in Auburn Hills to customize, test, repair, and re-customize vehicles. As a member of the retrofit team, you will perform part updates and rework on new and gently used vehicles. The scope of work varies from heavy to light repairs. Team members are responsible for maintaining proper documentation, following procedures, and ensuring quality work. In some cases, inspectors can be appointed for specific programs or platforms of repairs.
ResponsibilitiesRead service procedures as written by the OEM service engineersAccess and utilize OEM systems for software flashing, labor guides, and service proceduresEvaluate repairs and diagnose issues when repairing vehiclesPossess and use a complete variety of automotive tools, including some specialty toolsInspect incoming and outgoing vehiclesPerform test drives and functionality vehicle testsDocument any additional issues found and inform the Team Leader/Manager in a timely mannerWork independently and complete projects without interventionInteract and communicate effectively and professionally with the client teamConsistently meet labor time guidelines for multiple repairsWork independently and off-site with minimal resources in various conditionsMaintain a clean workstation and work environmentEssential SkillsExperienced technician in engine, transmission, and electrical repairs/troubleshootingPossess a mechanic tool setAbility to lift 40 lbs.Reliable attendancePositive attitude and willingness to learnAdditional Skills & QualificationsState or ASE certifications in engine, transmission, or electrical (preferred)Enjoy working on personal vehicles during downtimeWillingness to transfer to the Auburn Hills location once the new building is openWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Technicians will have their own workstations with all tools readily available. The environment is very clean with plenty of space. While it is not temperature controlled, the facility is comfortable with fans and vents maintaining normal temperatures. At the end of each shift, stations are cleaned and organized. Openings are available on both 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) and 3rd shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am) with a $2+/hour shift premium. A 40-hour base workweek is offered, with the option to work 2-3 hours past shifts for overtime and Double Time on Saturdays.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
