**Job Title: Service Technician Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Service Technician Mechanic to join our team. You will work a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. You will be responsible for servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, including sewer and storm cleaning vehicles, hydro vacuum excavators, street sweepers, bucket trucks, and 3-quarter ton trucks with trailers. The role requires a clean MVR and the ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout your shift. **Responsibilities** + Service and repair commercial vehicles such as sewer and storm cleaning vehicles, hydro vacuum excavators, street sweepers, bucket trucks, and 3-quarter ton trucks with trailers. + Check and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues. + Utilize skills in repairing and working on forklifts (Crown Forklift) if applicable. + Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on electrical systems including batteries, alternators, relays, and switches, particularly low voltage up to 24V. + Work with various components and circuits, including Can-buss systems/networks. + Handle pneumatic systems and compressed air to power and move tools and machinery. + Apply knowledge of hydraulics in the context of fluid mechanics. + Conduct preventive maintenance and factory-recommended inspections. + Inspect vehicles and equipment for wear, damage, or issues affecting performance and safety. + Create clear parts requisitions and document service work orders. + Travel may be required for on-site repairs at customer locations. **Essential Skills** + 3 years of experience with construction or heavy diesel equipment involving hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems. + Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics. + Possess a complete toolset required for service. + Valid driver's license and clean driving record. + Experience in troubleshooting machine breakdowns using computer diagnostic equipment. + Good attendance and punctuality. + Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. + Experience with rigging equipment. + Comfortable working on a laptop to view vehicle schematics. + Ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout the shift. **Why Work Here?** Join our growing team that values education within the industry. The environment can vary with the weather, but fans and swamp coolers are provided for hot days. The team comprises five mechanics, and we are looking to add a sixth. You will work 40 hours a week, with occasional Saturday work or extended hours if traveling. Uniforms and coveralls are supplied, and steel-toed boots are required from day one. We provide a stipend for steel-toed boots annually. The work involves a range of equipment from 1 year old to 20 years old, offering diverse and challenging experiences. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
