Job Description

We are a small family-owned shop with a history spanning over 54 years. We are currently looking to expand our team by adding a mechanic who can work on all types of large equipment, including trucks, buses, trailers, and cranes. This position is ideal for both experienced mechanics and entry-level candidates seeking on-the-job training.

ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repair on various types of large equipment such as trucks, buses, trailers, and cranes.Work on transmissions, engines, and truck bodies.Conduct basic duties such as brake jobs and oil changes for entry-level mechanics.Progressively learn and perform more complex repair work over time.Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic testing.Repair parts and conduct welding tasks as needed.Handle electrical systems, trailer repair, and pneumatics.Essential Skills2-3 years of experience in the Diesel field.Experience with diesel engine repair, hydraulics, and transmission work.Knowledge of preventive maintenance and diagnostic testing.Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and trailer components.Proficiency in welding and handling heavy equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with auto, diesel, and trailer repair.Capability to perform maintenance tasks such as brakes and oil changes.Familiarity with using hand and power tools.Knowledge of Cummins engines.Why Work Here?

Our flexible hours allow for a start time between 6 AM - 8 AM, and we accommodate candidates unable to work a full-time schedule. This is a great opportunity to receive on-the-job training in a laid-back environment. Employees' tools are insured, and we assist in acquiring the necessary tools over time.

Work Environment

Our repair shop has garage doors that remain open during the summer and are closed in the winter, with heating available. We maintain a very laid-back environment and are willing to work with employees as long as they are consistent, hard workers who provide value to the business.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $58240.00/yr.

- Employees have the opportunity to use the shop on the weekends for any personal projects or work that they want to do on their own (this could be a side job that they are doing for friends/family or just to work on their own equipment)
- Will pay for candidates to attend school and receive a degree related to Diesel maintenance work
- Flexible hours (they are willing to have people start any time between 6AM - 8AM. Additionally, they are open to candidates that cannot work a full time schedule.
- Great opportunity to receive on the job training (the owner started out at age 15 sweeping floors and is on track to retire at age 55)
- Very laid back environment/culture. Very willing to work with employees as long as they are consistent hard workers and provide value to the business.
- All tools that employees bring into the shop are ensured by Truck Repair & Equipment
- Company will assist with helping employees gain the proper tools needed for the job over time
