Mechanic
**Position:** Mechanic (Mid to High-Level Technician) **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm (hours may vary by 1 hour) **About Us:** A leading company specializing in the repair and overhaul of large marine vessels, including tugs and large fishing vessels. We also work with a variety of OEM products such as Dana, Hamilton, and others. Our team handles everything from engine troubleshooting and repair to converting transmissions from manual to automatic, and working on telehandlers, skidders, and large-scale gearboxes. **Key Responsibilities:** + Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and drives. + Convert transmissions from manual to automatic. + Work on telehandlers, skidders, and large-scale gearboxes. + Identify and provide solutions to equipment malfunctions and failures. + Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, and preparation of equipment both in-house and in the field. + Work with heavy-duty off-highway transmissions, axles, and components from vendors such as Twin Disc, ZF, Funk, Clark, AxleTech, Wichita, Eaton, Murphy, and Carraro. **Must-Haves:** + Good attitude with a go-getter mentality. + Desire to grow with the company long-term. + Supply of own basic set of tools. + High school graduate or equivalent. + Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. + Knowledge of basic hydraulic principles. + Knowledge of DC current and electronic fundamentals. + Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis and the use of diagnostic equipment and instrumentation. + Ability to read and understand assembly manuals, drawings, and schematics. + Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and customers. + Good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 consecutive hours. + Dexterity and agility sufficient for climbing around equipment, repairing equipment, and driving vehicles with clutch transmission. + Strong customer service orientation with a demonstrated sense of urgency. **Like to Have:** + Experience working with marine equipment. + 3-5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience (preferred). + 3-5 years of diesel tech experience. + Experience with Deutz and Isuzu lines. + Vocational training or military mechanic training. **Why Join Us:** + Work in a newer shop with a tight-knit crew. + Engage in diverse projects ranging from construction to marine equipment. + Be part of a company that values growth and long-term career development.
