**Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Grand Rapids, MI** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team for yard and plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, skid steers, trailers, and special equipment. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and repairing 3 phase/480V machinery, including bailers, PLC diagnosing, motors, and hydraulics at our paper plant facility. **Responsibilities** + Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, skid steers, trailers, and special equipment. + Troubleshoot and repair 3 phase/480V machinery, including bailers, motors, and hydraulics. + Diagnose and repair PLC systems. + Perform electrical troubleshooting of industrial machinery. + Work both independently and as part of a team in yard and plant operations. + Operate within the outdoor elements at the yard and in a non-climate-controlled facility at the paper plant. **Essential Skills** + Experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. + Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, specifically 3 phase & 480V systems. + Strong understanding of hydraulic systems. + Knowledge of diesel engines. + Ability to perform maintenance and repair on industrial machinery. **Why Work Here?** Our company is a growing entity in the metal and paper recycling industry, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment. The job includes handling heavy equipment, trailers, and forklifts. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
