**Mechanic Assistant** **Job Details** **Job Location** Balch Springs - Balch Springs, TX **Position Type** Full Time **Job Description:** UES is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic Assistant to join our dynamic drilling department. This hands-on role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, supporting maintenance and repair operations for drilling equipment. If you’re passionate about mechanics and eager to contribute to a high-performing team, we want to hear from you! **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. + Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities. Execute routine maintenance programs for company equipment. + Recommend course of action for repair/maintenance of equipment + Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment. + Carry out various tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager. + Travel required to field locations and remote shops. + Overtime, emergency call-ins and weekend hours may be required depending on work load. + Welding & torching (Steel, aluminum & Stainless Steel) + Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + Valid Texas driver’s license. + Proficient in using job-related tools and equipment. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + A service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving. + Welding experience is a plus; Class A CDL preferred but not required. **About Us:** _The UES Texas Region includes 4 powerhouse legacy firms from the geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental consulting arenas: Alpha Testing, Rock Engineering & Testing, Riner Engineering, and InControl Technologies._ _Now, as we work together as_ **_Team UES_** _, our core values continue to portray who we are and what we believe.
