Our mission is to improve public transportation, to enhance quality of life and combat global warming. Diagnoses and repairs various coach systems with major, complicated/complex problems under general supervision.  Why Work with Us?Competitive Wages        $ 30.90 per hour + $2500 Hiring bonus- paid within 14 months of employmentComprehensive benefits including health (medical, dental, and vision) and group life insurance.Career advancement opportunities owing to Transdev's presence in over 200+ communities across North AmericaBonus paid yearly for all certifications.To view Transdev's purpose and how we make a difference, follow this link: https://youtu.be/ilO5cv0G4mQ Essential Duties Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, maintains and installs component parts of transit vehiclesInspects and diagnoses problems on all assigned transit vehicles and equipmentServices and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles and related light and heavy mechanical equipmentPerforms preventative maintenance procedure inspections to transit vehicles as required by Federal, state, and local guidelines; performs preventative maintenance as neededPerforms upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems and equipmentPerforms road calls and on-the-road repairs as neededMaintains a clean and well-organized work areaOther duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:High school diploma or equivalent, such as GEDMust be age 21 or olderMust possess a Commercial Driving License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsementsEducation, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferredExperience:1 or more years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty transit equipmentApplicants must pass internal Mechanic test with a score of 40-50%Skills and Knowledge Required:  Good written and oral communication skillsBroad understanding of all mechanical systems Ability to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagramsAbility to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondenceAbility to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to detailsTravel requirement (as a percent):
