Mechanic - Central

Brief Description:
The Mechanic maintains NexTier equipment in proper working order, performs routine and non-routine maintenance, and supports operational safety, quality, and compliance. This role includes advancing within the progression plan and ensuring the servicing of equipment adheres to company and client standards.

Detailed Description:

Monitors the operation of equipment during pumping activities and performs necessary repairs. Ensures compliance with workplace safety, environmental standards, national safety codes, NexTier, and client policies and regulations. Demonstrates proper driving techniques for applicable DOT vehicles. Obtains required certifications and licenses. Learns basic auxiliary equipment involved in maintenance operations. Maintains a consistent focus on service, quality, and safety. Reads diagrams and schematics for work procedures. Operates hoists and lift devices to position machinery safely. Performs routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on company assets. Lubricates, services, diagnoses, repairs, assembles, and maintains vehicles and other equipment. Stays updated on changes to industry standards. Ensures completed work passes safety inspections. Verifies that equipment is DOT compliant following repairs. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations. Familiarity with company policies, procedures, HSE standards, and departmental guidelines. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to issue and understand verbal and written instructions. Ability to read blueprints and schematics for component troubleshooting. Understanding and application of basic diagnostic principles. Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety manuals, operational instructions, and policies/procedures. Capability to write reports, create simple correspondence, and effectively communicate with coworkers, customers, and management. Ability to work independently or within a team. Adaptability to changing work environments.

Language Comprehension:
Must understand and speak English at a level sufficient to issue, receive, and respond to both safety and operations-related directions.

Minimum Qualifications:
All Levels:

High school diploma or GED certificate Must have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, and meet the requirements of the Company’s vehicle program, policy, and/or guidelines Have your own tools

Level 2:

Internal Applicants: 6+ months’ experience as a Mechanic 1, successfully meeting all competency requirements External Applicants: 1+ years’ mechanical experience in the troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and inspecting of hydraulic and electrical equipment as well as overhauling engines and transmissions

Level 3:

Internal Applicants: 6+ months’ experience as a Mechanic 2, successfully meeting all competency requirements External Applicants: 5+ years’ mechanical experience in the troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and inspecting of hydraulic and electrical equipment as well as overhauling engines and transmissions

Preferred Qualifications:
All Levels:

1+ years of verifiable mechanical experience in troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and inspecting hydraulic and electrical equipment as well as overhauling engines and transmissions Prior military service

Level 2:

3+ years’ experience removing and installing frac pump and blender major components such as engines, transmissions, power ends, fluid ends, cooling packages, and centrifugal pumps 3+ years’ experience building, installing, and troubleshooting electric-over-air and air-over-air actuating systems

Level 3:

Valid Class A CDL with manual shift experience Technical institute certification/degree in Maintenance or Repair Experience removing and installing frac pump and blender major components such as engines, transmissions, power ends, fluid ends, cooling packages, and centrifugal pumps Experience building, installing, and troubleshooting electric-over-air and air-over-air actuating systems
