Scope and General Purpose of the Mechanic/ Fitter:
Expected to repair, maintain, install and monitor mechanical equipment throughout the hotel and respond to emergency requests promptly
Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications: Understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute tasks.
• Fabricate and assemble components: Use various machines and tools to fabricate, assemble, and fit components according to specifications.
• Perform machining operations: Operate workshop power machines, grinders, welding machinery and other power tools to perform various repair operations.
• Inspect and test components: Conduct quality control checks to ensure components meet specifications and are free from defects.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment: Identify and repair mechanical faults in equipment, machinery, and components.
• Perform periodic inspections and carry out preventative maintenance on various equipment.
• Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills. Physical Demands
• Manual labor: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment, tools, and components.
• Standing and walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the property or site.
• Working in confined spaces: Ability to work in cramped or confined spaces, such as inside service ducts or equipment.
