Summary:
The Mechanic II performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include Mechanical, Utilities and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment. The Mechanic II may be scheduled to work various work shifts and weekends to meet the needs of the hospital not necessarily within the craft lines. This position may require travel to perform necessary maintenance work at other BCHS facilities. 4 years’ experience in an acute healthcare setting is acceptable in lieu of HSD/GED. 5 Years as a Service Related Technician is required. 3 Years Hospital Maintenance is preferred. 1 Year High- rise Mechanical and/or Utilities systems experience is preferred. Fourth-Grade Stationary Engineer’s License is preferred. Performs other duties as assigned.
