Responsibilities Inspect and operate refrigeration, heating, cooling, and air conditioning systems and other equipment to assure that all are functioning properly. Install new equipment and systems; repair and maintain equipment and systems as needed. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work on systems and equipment. Coordinate preventive maintenance with repair and emergency work activities. Assist other trades personnel as required. Act as work crew leader when work project requires it. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications; follow manufacturer's instructions and specifications in operation, repair, and maintenance of systems. Maintain records, reports, and statistics as required; maintain appropriate manuals, blueprints, and other such materials. Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe. Care for and maintain department equipment and supplies. Maintain established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control; comply with codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Qualifications Three to five years' experience in building maintenance. Familiarity with codes and regulations. Ability to drive hospital vehicle.
