We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training for assignment in San Marcos, Texas. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment associated with water/wastewater treatment plants.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
** This position has a pay rate of $22/hr **
Responsibilities- Read and record information in Maintenance Connection, work orders and mechanical information sheets
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles (i.e., fluid levels, belts, tires)
- Perform routine onsite pump station inspections
- Test auxiliary equipment (i.e. alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, generators)
- Lubricate equipment and replace filters
- Assists in keeping maintenance records
- Communicates effectively at all levels regarding recommended maintenance and repair procedures
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Experience in an industrial setting is highly preferred
