Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, generators, electric motors, pneumatic pumps and tools, motor control centers, and control panels by performing the following duties.

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of troubleDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective partsExamine form and texture of parts to detect imperfectionsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsRepair or replace defective partsInstall special functional and structural parts in devicesLubricate and clean partsStart devices to test their performanceInitiate purchase order parts and machinesRepair electrical equipmentAttend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policiesWork harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with ESG policiesQualifications
Prefer three months of related experience, high school diploma or GED, or specialized vocational training. Must have a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.

The position requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
