With more than 7,000 employee-owners, Austin Industries provides nearly every type of civil, commercial and industrial construction services through the expertise of our operating companies: Austin Bridge & Road, Austin Commercial and Austin Industrial. **Austin Bridge & Road** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Mechanic** for heavy civil projects in the **North** **Texas area.** Our mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of heavy construction equipment, including pavers, road rollers, and milling machinery. **Responsibilities:** + Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly + Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues by using diagnostic equipment or by performing hands-on tests + Repairing or replacing broken parts, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. + Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty, compliance, and tracking purposes. + Follow all safety policies and procedures + Other duties as assigned **Qualifications:** + 3+ years of service and repair experience with heavy construction equipment + Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance skills + Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting abilities + Mechanical aptitude with required knowledge of: + Diesel engines + Transmissions + Electrical systems + Hydraulic systems + Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment + Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety + Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices **Requirements:** + High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification + Valid driver’s license + Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures + Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights and weekends + Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
