Mechanic/Shop Lead
Overview M Health Fairview has a new opportunity for a Mechanic/Shop Lead. We are offering a $5,000.00 sign on bonus for this position! Do you want to work with an outstanding team? In this position, you will work with a team to assist in maintenance and repair of the shop vehicles. M Health Fairview (HealthEast Medical Transportation) has been successfully meeting the needs of our community for more than 134 years. Our headquarters facility, located in St. Paul, was built in 2010 in partnership with the St. Paul Port Authority. We support our community by providing more than 60,000 calls annually using our innovative equipment. Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most expert Paramedics and EMTs in the region, helping to make M Health Fairview a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service. Hours: Full-time (80 hours per two weeks) Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday through Friday *No weekends* Responsibilities Job Description Monitors, assists, and supports the basic/technical repair work of the shop technicians. Performs maintenance and repair to company vehicles per M Health Fairview EMS and/or manufacturer's guidelines. Job Expectations: · Acts as shop lead by training, mentoring and developing new and current employees. Is available to support and answering employee questions concerning difficult or complex diagnostic issues. Assists to assure safe practices, safe environment and adherence to safety policy. · Communicate with management any process related issues and help resolve them in the most efficient manner. · Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. · Serves as quality control with repeat or ongoing vehicle concerns. Measure/Monitor/Administers QAQI processes and programs. · Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. · Performs maintenance/repair of the M Health Fairview EMS fleet of vehicles, which includes ambulances, wheelchair vans and operation vehicles. · Performs preventative maintenance as required per M Health Fairview EMS System and/or manufacturers guidelines. · Provides immediate support to vehicle operators for issues that develop while the vehicles are in use. · Performs new vehicle equipment installation. · Performs chassis and module equipment installation to maintain the fleet. · Monitors, assists, and supports the basic repair work of the shop technicians and apprentice mechanics. Qualifications Required Experience · 5 year of automotive maintenance experience License/Certification/Registration · Trade or Vocational Certification · Valid driver’s license and DMV record that meet the insurability requirements. · ASE Master Certified Automotive Tech · ASE Designations: G1, A1 – A8 Preferred Education · Associates Degree Experience · Previous experience working with Emergency Services Vehicles · Shop lead experience and vocational/technical training in Automotive/Vehicle Repair.
