Responsibilities: + Technical Direction: Provide guidance for design, analysis, implementation, and operational support. + Project Tasks: Engage in conceptual design, revisions, and modifications of structures or Ground Support Equipment (GSE). + Safety Assurance: Use finite element analysis and hand calculations to ensure systems operate safely and comply with standards. + Documentation: Prepare comprehensive Design Analysis Reports (DAR) and other essential documentation. + Review and Feedback: Evaluate engineering models and methodologies, providing constructive feedback. + Troubleshooting: Address equipment/system anomalies using data and testing results. + Guidance: Assist technicians with repairs and operations, referencing specific procedures. + Client Interaction: Support and present at Engineering Review Boards, interfacing with NASA and other clients. + Project Management: Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget. + Construction Support: Validate compliance with engineering drawings and contract documents. + Additional Duties: Perform other assigned tasks as needed. Skills: + Software Proficiency: FEA, NX NASTRAN, MSC Nastran, kinematics packages, Nx Motion, Msc Adams, LS-DYNA. + Technical Skills: Hand calculations, knowledge of ASME, ASTM, SAE standards.
