Maintenance Technician – Experienced  Mechanical and Electrical Openings

We are currently seeking skilled Maintenance professionals to join our team located in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Roanoke Rapids Maintenance team is responsible for maintenance and repair of paper board manufacturing equipment. 

 

Pay Range for Maintenance Technicians: $29.33/hr - $38.08/hr based on education and experience.

Working with skilled mentors to perform electrical or mechanical maintenanceAt the completion of training, you will be expected to do the following:Support continuous improvement of preventive maintenanceEngage in preventive and predictive maintenance activities throughout the facility.Participate in trouble-shooting efforts to respond to equipment failures and/or process deficienciesParticipate in root cause analysis and execution of corrective actions to minimize recurrence of unplanned shutdownsTroubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Distributive Control System (DCS) and Programmed Logic Control (PLC) systems, which includes higher levels of automation, improved methods of control, and improved information gathering and reportingInterprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to troubleshoot and maintain process control systemsCompletes necessary documentation to ensure control documentation is current, follows all necessary change control procedures, and updates (marks up) drawings to reflect process improvements and field changesInitiates and completes work-orders and requisitions, and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basisAdhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and proceduresMechanic duties include, but are not restricted to, replacing valves & gaskets, basic welding, repacking pumps & valves, forklift operations, screwed pipe & tubing installations, cylinder repair, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair and replacements, motor replacements, and repair of mechanical drive systems.

 

The Experience You Will Bring

Basic Requirements:

At least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GED RequiredTwo-year associate degree in a related field OR a registered apprenticeship OR similar formal training is requiredThree or more years of experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience requiredAt least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GED RequiredKnowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, lubrication and hydraulicsPiping layout and installation experienceWelding experience: stick, mig, tig, certifiedMachine shop skills ex. Lathes, boring, balancing, CNC, etc.Capable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, around heat, noise, work inside/outside, etc.  Readiness to fill the shift maintenance position once qualified.
