Mechanical Assembler
**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and securing parts in place using various methods, installing subassemblies and modules into racks, and performing intermediate assembly tasks such as wiring servers and mechanical assembly. This position also involves performing online testing and inspection to ensure parts meet production specifications, setting up stations with correct documents and components, and handling/installing components on designated locations. **Responsibilities** + Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place. + Install multi-level subassemblies and modules into racks using complex configurations. + Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets. + Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies. + Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as wiring servers and mechanical assembly. + Conduct online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. + Set up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing. + Handle/install polarized/non-polarized components on designated locations on products. + Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics. + Assist in performing repair work. + Communicate any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors, and/or engineers. + Perform preventative maintenance on production line equipment. **Essential Skills** + Capable of using torque screwdriver and small hand tools. + Ability to lift up to 10 lbs consistently. + Perform work on a 50-inch elevated platform, two-step ladder, or a 9-step ladder. + Operate pallet jack. + Electromechanical assembly experience preferred. + Ability to follow wire diagrams to perform assembly work. + Attention to detail. + Good computer skills. + Assemble complex units for wiring, connecting different sub-assemblies and nodes into large rack systems. + Assist, instruct, and qualify new operators. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in reading MPIs. + Mechanical assembly using power tools. + Experience with wire harness and wiring techniques. + Ability to perform heavy lifting. + Experience in electronic manufacturing environments. + Familiarity with ESD straps. **Why Work Here?** This is a long-term opportunity in a stable and growing industry. Employees will be required to work day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or swing shifts from 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The role involves working on elevated platforms and using various tools and equipment.
