Mechanical Assembler1st Shift $18 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, particularly in wiring management, crimping, and connecting components. You will work in various departments including Canopy, Enclosures, Quality, and Trailer, performing tasks such as building electrical sub-assemblies, inspecting and troubleshooting defects, and using hand and power tools.

ResponsibilitiesAssemble electrical sub-assemblies.Follow production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.Interpret electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material to understand required parts and steps needed.Pre-cut component cables and wires.Connect component cables and wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.Modify and crimp wires to meet sub-assembly requirements.Use hand tools to place small components, cables, connectors, and perform basic tests.Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.Inspect completed electrical sub-assemblies.Troubleshoot and rework defects on sub-assemblies.Essential Skills1-2+ years mechanical assembly experience.Exposure to blueprints, bill of materials, and/or assembly procedures.Clear understanding of general mechanical hand tools and proper methods.Clear understanding of power tools and proper methods.Clear communication skills and a solid previous work experience.Must be available for overtime weekdays and Saturdays as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsAutomotive assembly experience is a plus.Must be able to keep up quality and speed within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Flexibility and willingness to assist in other areas and roles as needed.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Large indoor/outdoor warehouse (heat, cold, wind, and sun daily). Monday - Friday. 1st shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm. 2nd shift: 8:30am to 5:00pm. Working with a production team of 20 people; reporting to Production Supervisor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
