Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for performing technical duties related to the manufacturing of driveshafts. This role involves operating various mechanical equipment, using hand tools, and ensuring the quality and productivity of the work performed.

ResponsibilitiesOperate mechanical equipment such as cut-off saws, welders, hydraulic presses, and balancers.Use hand tools to assemble driveshafts, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and secured.Utilize measuring devices, including tape measures and calipers, to ensure precision in assembly.Follow verbal and written instructions to interpret work orders and dimensional information.Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure the driveshafts meet quality standards.Utilize production systems via computers, tablets, and scanners to track and manage workflow.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads.Continuously seek ways to improve processes and contribute to team goals.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed.Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to operate or learn to operate small hand tools.Ability to read work orders and instructions to perform effectively.Ability to properly lift, pack, stack, and wrap up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Good organizational, communication, and math skills.Basic mechanical skills with machinery and tools.Basic computer skills, including internet and scanning systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with packaging, production, and inspection.Knowledge of hand and power tools, mechanical assembly, and pneumatic tools.Experience in an assembly line environment.Ability to interpret blueprints and work orders.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled production environment. Weekday shift is Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM. Weekend shift is Friday-Sunday, 6:00AM-6:30PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.75
