**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products. Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality. **Responsibilities** + Interpret assembly and elevation drawings + Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies + Read tape measure + Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers) + Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench) **Essential Skills** + At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder, or Automotive Mechanic + Knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics + Ability to use shop equipment and hand tools + Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals + Fluency in English (reading, writing, and conversing) **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required **Why Work Here?** The company offers good benefits and long-term earning opportunities, including Group Health Insurance, Group Dental Insurance, Group Vision Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Local 134 IBEW Pension Plan, and Supplemental Insurance. They manufacture everything from start to finish in fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. The facility is very clean, new, modernly designed, and comfortable temperatures to work in. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of St. Charles, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
