**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products. Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions, and performing a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality. **Responsibilities** + Interpret assembly and elevation drawings. + Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies. + Read tape measure accurately. + Use manual hand tools such as wrench, screwdriver, and pliers. + Operate power tools including drills, impacts, and pneumatic torque wrenches. **Essential Skills** + At least 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder, or Automotive Mechanic in a job shop environment. + Knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics. + Proficiency in using shop equipment and hand tools. + Ability to perform basic math functions, including understanding fractions and decimals. + Fluency in reading, writing, and conversing in English. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required. **Why Work Here?** The company offers good benefits and long-term earning opportunities, including Group Health Insurance, Group Dental Insurance, Group Vision Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Local 134 IBEW Pension Plan, and Supplemental Insurance. It manufactures everything from start to finish in fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. The facility is very clean, new, modernly designed, and maintains comfortable temperatures for working. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Franklin Park, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
