Mechanical Assembler
**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** As a Manufacturing Technician/Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for the fabrication and validation of critical flight hardware, including mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and flight Ground Support Equipment, according to associated flight drawings, procedures, quality standards, and internal training. You will assist engineers in the manufacture and development of flight/prototype hardware, as well as the documentation of assembly and test procedures. You will also identify and communicate non-conformances to engineering and quality assurance, work with facilities and maintenance to ensure timely repair and maintenance of production equipment, and collaborate with manufacturing engineering to optimize manufacturing orders and ensure process instructions are understood. **Responsibilities** + Fabricate and validate critical flight hardware, including mechanical and electrical assembly, and flight Ground Support Equipment. + Assist engineers in the manufacture and test infrastructure development of flight/prototype hardware. + Document assembly and test procedures and other specified tasks. + Identify and communicate non-conformances to engineering and quality assurance. + Work with facilities and maintenance to ensure timely maintenance and repair of production equipment. + Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to optimize manufacturing orders and ensure process instructions are understood. **Essential Skills** + Experience with schematic reading and interpretation. + Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. + Experience with aerospace mechanical and electrical assembly. + Ability to conduct testing and troubleshooting. + Experience with soldering and production assembly. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and electro-mechanical schematics. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Current Solder, Harnessing/Crimping certification to J or NASA-Standards. + Ability to work from diagrams, drawings, and detailed procedures. + Experience operating electrical and non-electrical manufacturing equipment. + Experience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools, and air tools. + Experience working with adhesives, chemical cleaners, coating materials, and other commonly used chemicals in manufacturing. **Why Work Here?** Join a team working on the IROSA satellite for NASA. Work hours are Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
