MAURY MICROWAVE JOB DESCRIPTION Approved by: VP of Technical Operations Date: 8/23/2024 Job Title: Mechanical Assembler FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Manufacturing Direct Reports to: Production Manager Brief Summary of Position: The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient assembly of mechanical parts using a variety of tools and equipment to build high precision test equipment according to required specifications, processes, and procedures. Fine motor skills and high-quality standards will be required to ensure efficient and accurate assembly, suitable for a high quality, high value final product. Essential Functions of the Position • Assemble units using standard hand and power tools by reading from drawings and diagrams. • Inspection of incoming mechanical parts and pieces; reject and notify supervisor of product which does not conform to specifications. • Study and interpret drawings, assembly instructions, and/or standard work instructions to accurately assemble components. • Assemble sub-assemblies in the established routed hours to deliver the product on or before the due date. • Determine if all parts are present; communicate to immediate supervisor the status of needed parts to produce units. • Document WIP (digitally and/or photographically) to the designated network folders • Rotate through other production lines to assist where needed. • Perform co-worker's job functions during absences within the department. • Perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards. • Use any specialized tooling that is required in the respective area. Complete any necessary certifications if required to do so. • Maintain a working knowledge of workmanship standards as well as the ISO quality system. Utilize these practices in everyday activity. • Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly. • Interpret measurements. • Report errors in product line. • Evaluate quality of finished product. • Regular and reliable attendance. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • High school education or equivalent; OR at least one (1) year of related experience in general assembly work or mechanical trade work. • English fluency and able to communicate with others effectively. • Basic understanding of how to use non powered hand tools • Basic computer skills: ability to learn/use new programs, i.e. printer or camera software • Well organized with a high level of attention to detail. • Must be able to follow instructions, take notes, and work independently. • Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment. • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics for placement of parts. • Proficient in using standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc. • Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power and air tools.
