Mechanical Assembler II

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler II.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:  
Assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts to form subassemblies. Align, fit, assemble, fasten, connect, and install system components of military mechanical/electromechanical equipment.

 

Essential Functions: 
•    Setup equipment to meet product standards for identification, contact painting, wire cutting, riveting, contact crimping and contact hooding.
•    Weigh, mix and identify items such as inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds, and potting materials.
•    Able to interface with customers if necessary.
•    Perform connector assemblies.
•    Perform work with limited to no supervision.
•    Rework and/or repair assembled parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
•    Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, and follows procedures.
•    Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points.
•    Assemble and bond EMI rings to connector shell per work order instructions.
•    Apply identification stamping to various components and assemblies.
•    Paint components, as well as apply paint stripe markings to contacts.
•    Work in a safe manner and perform housekeeping duties to maintain safe work environment. Assure proper maintenance of a safe and clean work area.
•    Stage materials for shipment as required.
•    Prepare single and shielded wires for termination, crimp contacts to prepared wires, terminate simple cables to connectors, and load and operate heat treat and annealing ovens.
•    Soldering contacts and application of solvents and epoxies.
 

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
•    1-2 years’ experience in related mechanical manufacturing assembly operations
•    Ability to read, follow and understand verbal instruction, product/ process specifications, drawings, and work orders in English.
•    Ability to use calculators.
•    Ability to lift 30 lbs. and handle components and assemblies using bending, reaching, and twisting body movements; in addition to use of hand tools.
•    Ability to recognize and inform supervision of assembly problems and equipment breakdown.
•    Good manual dexterity to assemble small and intricate parts.
•    Soldering experience 

 

Required Qualifications:
•    High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
•    Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
•    No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of Camarillo will be considered for this position.
•    This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
