Mechanical CAD Engineer
A Mechanical CAD Engineer (MCAD) will be responsible for the design of mechanical product, for high volume manufacturing, high quality and harsh environment, of High Voltage Power Electronics products and power controllers. Your tasks will consist of developing CAD models and drawings based on mechanical engineer requirements, performing drawing verification of your design, and supporting Manufacturing and Test fixture and gages development Key responsibilities + Perform MCAD activity + Review/Analyse mechanical packaging and design requirements for ME and/or controller designs + Interface with the program specific engineers to develop packaging strategy based on the packaging envelope as well as customer and/or internal design requirements + Utilize UG Nx tools to construct and develop concept and production level models and prints to reflect the agreed upon design strategy + Utilize Team Center (1PLM) and the BorgWarner release process to release the completed and approved drawings. Make sure the drawings follow internal standards and procedures. + Utilize the BorgWarner change process to modify models and drawings as required. + Create and update 3D parts / assemblies / drawings/ Manage BOM’s + Attend project Team meetings + Support Mechanical Verification activities, requests, tolerances stack-up and documentation. + Be part of the discussion with suppliers during the development and sourcing activity. + Exchange 3D data with supplier and customer What we are looking for + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a equivalent experience + Minimum of 10+ years of related engineering work experience in design field + UG Nx CAD modelling/ drawings experience (Required) + Team Centre Experience (1PLM) (Required)) + Knowledge and understanding of GD&T ASME Y14.5 principles and their application (Strongly Preferred) + Knowledge on Stack-up analysis with 3DCS tool experience (Strongly Preferred) + Experience in EV Driveline and/or Power Electronics components design. + Understanding of the relationships between manufacturing processes materials, and components designs for die cast, plastic and sheet metal parts. (Strongly Preferred) + Design experience in a cost competitive automotive environment with particular focus on stringent Sealing, thermal and vibration conditions. + Customer-focus, leadership spirit, motivation skills, work in a team environment + Good level of oral and written communication skills in English + Knowledge of cross-cultural communications. + Must be able to multi-task, be very organized, detail oriented.
