Mechanical Claims Analyst
Mechanical Claims Analyst Start Date: April 7th, 2025 Overview: We are seeking passionate and detail-oriented Mechanical Claims Analysts to join our growing customer contact team. As a Mechanical Claims Analyst, you will have a key role in upholding our reputation for honesty, fairness, and excellence. Using your automotive expertise and strong customer service skills, you will assist customers through our customer contact center, ensuring their claims are processed accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: + Claims Review & Authorization: Evaluate, investigate, and authorize minor mechanical claims in accordance with established contract guidelines. + Customer Communication: Engage with retail and wholesale customers, repair facilities, and other stakeholders via telephone and email to resolve and process claims. + Technology Utilization: Use a variety of tools and technology to process claims, review policies, analyze labor times, and retrieve necessary documents. + Labor Time Analysis: Use industry-standard resources such as AllData, Mitchell, and other labor guides to obtain labor times for specific mechanical repairs. + Problem Resolution: Assist customers in understanding the claims process, answering questions regarding approvals or denials, and providing guidance on next steps. Advise customers on how to obtain quotes and what repairs may be covered under the auto warranty. Typical Call Scenarios: + Dealership Inquiries: Dealerships will call to inquire about repairs required for vehicles, seeking clarification on whether repairs are covered by the auto warranty. You will assess claims based on established guidelines to approve or deny. + Customer Questions: Car owners will contact you for explanations on why a claim was approved or denied. + Guiding Customers: You will advise car owners on the steps needed to get quotes and move forward with repairs. This includes explaining the claims process and advising on warranty coverage. Skills & Qualifications: + Automotive Knowledge: 2+ years of hands-on automotive maintenance experience or mechanical claims experience. + ASE Certification (Preferred): ASE or equivalent automotive certification is preferred (expired certifications accepted). + Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both customers and internal teams. + Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using multiple software programs to review claims, labor guides, and retrieve relevant documents. + Experience with Labor Guides: Familiarity with AllData, Mitchell, or other labor guides is highly preferred. + Bonus Skills: Experience using Scan Tools and other diagnostic tools is a plus. Core Skills: + Automotive industry experience + ASE certified (preferred) + Exceptional customer service skills Desired Experience: + 2+ years of hands-on automotive repair or mechanical claims experience + Familiarity with AllData, Mitchell, or other industry-standard labor guides (a plus) + Experience with diagnostic scan tools (a plus) Interview Questions to Prepare For: + Describe your previous experience in the automotive industry and mechanical maintenance. + Tell me about the most challenging project you’ve worked on in your automotive career. + How have you handled an irate or dissatisfied customer in the past? + Share an example of a time when you had to guide a customer through a complicated process. + What parts of vehicles have you worked on specifically? + Have you ever used a diagnostic scanner, and if so, in what capacity? + How do you approach troubleshooting mechanical issues over the phone? Experience Level: Entry Level #centralpriority2025 Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
