High Level Project Overview
The following defines responsibilities of the Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor or primary scope of the Offshore Substation (OSS) and connected assets. Role reports functionally to the Commissioning Site Manager, OSS.
The candidate will be required to be stationed at the pre-assembly site located at Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT) in Virginia starting at the end of Q1-2025 until the closure of the installation campaign projected by Q1 2027.
Responsibilities Present at work location to manage, supervise, coordinate, report on commissioning activities Ensure coordination and compliance by commissioning working parties to HSE programs, Project requirements, and contract agreements. Focus is LV mechanical systems and activities including mechanical PTW, LOTO and SIMOPS Lead supervision of equipment systems dealing with low voltages, thermal, and mechanical energies such as HVAC, chillers, dry coolers, oil separators, water pumps, cranes, etc. Lead daily coordination meetings with Contractors related to commissioning work Track schedule progress and provide inputs to managers, schedulers Support process and review of deliverable documentation, e.g. reports, plans, As-Builts, etc. Execute and coordinate Owner LOTO isolations, documentation, and plans Manage, coordinate, and authorize energization activities of high and low voltage equipment Support coordination, authorization of work activities in an energized OSS or asset perimeter Draft, update, review, and authorize plans, procedures, and certificate documentation Owner representation to witness, inspect, audit, walkdown, and accept work Review work authorizations on primarily LV mechanical commissioning activities, including P&ID line walks, valve line ups, isolations, and system validations prior to in-service energizations
Companies and/or industries of interest Must have prior experience on major capital projects (100M+) in the offshore wind industry directly handling electrical projects and scope. Experience in the Offshore Wind Industry working directly in a Mechanical Commissioning role/scope Experience managing, coordinating commissioning scope of mechanical and LV systems Demonstrated expertise as manager of complex scope with PM tools
Preferred Years of Experience 5+ years of Mechanical Commissioning work/experience in working hands on with electrical scopes of work, specific preference would be to have that experience be directly related to Wind Turbine Generator projects Strong communication skills both verbal and written Strong organizational skills Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams If interested in this opportunity, please email Madison Lazar directly - Madison.Lazar@airswift.com
